I have been a personal fitness trainer since 2005 and love this lifestyle. Everyday I’m inspired by the people I work with and feel extremely lucky to have built a full spectrum of clients from the complete beginner to the experienced sports person. Having played sport to a high level for many years I particularly enjoy Sports Specific training and seeing my athletes achieve the results they want. 
I also, however, have a huge passion to introduce exercise to clients who have previously done very little, are under-confident and for many years have considered it out of their reach. This job suits me down to the ground as I have boundless energy and my clients are constantly amused by my excitement for new techniques, exercises and results. Helping clients feel fitter and happier as their new healthier habits fit perfectly into their busy schedules is very fulfilling. I look forward to meeting you soon.

Qualifications

I am on the Register of Exercise Professionals with the status of Level 4 Specialist Exercise Instructor. All registered Personal Trainers have to be at least Level 3 and on top of that main qualification I studied further to be able to help people with Lower Back Pain. I’m pretty good at painful knees too, only there isn’t a qualification in that... And ankles

I have now been in the industry for long enough to have completed pretty much all the basic and necessary certificates in circuit training, gym instructing, core stability, boxing etc etc. However, I really love training total body movements (so I’ll rarely ask you to simply do a bicep curl, rather, I might get you to do a weighted arm movement whilst lunging and rotating) as it’s that kind of thing that properly helps mobility and strengthens the core without you really noticing. That’s why I trained and qualified to coach using medicine balls, kettlebells and then my absolute favourite – the ViPR®. Simple pieces of equipment that achieve really good results whether you are looking for strength, flexibility, good condition and the right exercises for you (not just what everybody else is doing).

A significant part of my job has always been working with mums-to-be and new mums and for that I train with Burrell Education who I believe to be the most knowledgeable and progressive training establishment in the pregnancy and post-natal field.

If you have a degenerative medical condition and your GP is keen to refer to an exercise specialist, I am qualified to be referred to in this way. Exercise has been scientifically proven to be of great benefit to many people suffering with orthopaedic, cardiovascular, metabolic, neuromuscular and pulmonary diseases. If you are looking for someone who shouts in your face, as you stand in one place pumping iron, then honestly I’m probably not for you. It’s not what I love doing so I wouldn’t be able to do it properly for you!
